Holy Thursday is the day on which Christ celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples, four days after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Only hours after the Last Supper, Judas would betray Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, setting the stage for Christ's Crucifixion on Good Friday.

Holy Thursday is the day on which Catholics commemorate the institution of three pillars of the Catholic Faith: the Sacrament of Holy Communion, the priesthood, and the Mass. During the Last Supper, Christ blessed the bread and wine with the very words that Catholic and Orthodox priests use today to consecrate the Body and Blood of Christ during the Mass and the Divine Liturgy. In telling His disciples to "Do this in remembrance of Me," He instituted the Mass and made them the first priests (About.com - Catholicism). 

Christ, during the last supper, reaffirmed a new commandment he gave his Church.  The Lord, "who came to serve and not to be served," washes the feet of his disciples.  He is calling us, the Church, to serve one another in love.  During the Mass, we remember this charity and service by having our own foot washing ritual.  All are welcome to participate in this ritual.

El Jueves Santo es el día en que Cristo celebró la Última Cena con sus discípulos, cuatro días después de su entrada triunfal en Jerusalén el Domingo de Ramos. Sólo unas horas después de la Última Cena, Judas traicionaría a Cristo en el Huerto de Getsemaní, preparando el escenario para la Crucifixión de Cristo el Viernes Santo.

El Jueves Santo es el día en que los Católicos conmemoran la institución de los tres pilares de la Fe Católica: el Sacramento de la Sagrada Comunión, el Sacerdocio y la Misa. Durante la Última Cena, Cristo bendijo el pan y el vino con las mismas palabras que los Católicos y los Sacerdotes Ortodoxos utilizan hoy para consagrar el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo durante la Misa y la Divina Liturgia. Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament 

Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in the wake of the Mass of the Lord's supper is a tradition in the Catholic Church.  Because of a long historical process, whose origins are not entirely clear, the place of repose has traditionally been referred to as a "a holy sepulcher". The faithful go there to venerate Jesus who was placed in a tomb following the crucifixion and in which he remained for some forty hours.  It is an invitation to silent and prolonged adoration of the wondrous sacrament instituted by Jesus on this day.  You are invited to join us in this prayer after Mass on Holy Thursday.

La adoración del Santísimo Sacramento después de la Misa de la Cena del Señor es una tradición en la Iglesia Católica. Debido a un largo proceso histórico, cuyos orígenes no están del todo claros, tradicionalmente se ha denominado al lugar de reposo como un "santo sepulcro". Los fieles acuden allí para venerar a Jesús que fué puesto en un sepulcro tras la crucifixión y en el que permaneció unas cuarenta horas.
