My friends,
We are deeply saddened to receive the news that the parents of two friends and collaborators in ministry died. Joseph Dudek, the father of our former pastor, Fr. Steve Dudek, died yesterday. This has been a very difficult year for Fr. Steve and his family since their mother Agnes died last spring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 17 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Visitation will be on Friday, January 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church and also Saturday morning from 10:00-10:30 am. The address of the church is 2275 Diamond Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI.
Francisca Rios de Flores, the mother of Guillermo Flores, our coordinator of bilingual Faith Formation programs, also died yesterday. This is also very difficult time for Guillermo and his family. His mother died in Los Angeles and now he and his father are making preparations for the funeral and burial to take place in Jalisco, Mexico.
Please keep Fr. Steve, Guillermo and their families in your prayers in the days ahead as they grieve the loss of their parents.
If anyone would like to carpool to Joe Dudek’s funeral people could meet at church on Saturday and leave by 9:15 am.
